Toddler - PreK

The Preschool community at Applewild is a creative and nurturing community where children learn through play. Applicants will be considered for admission on a rolling basis as space allows.

Enrollment Options

  • Full day (set 9 hour schedule)
  • Core day (8:30am -3:00pm)
  • Morning (8:30-11:30)

*Our Toddler program is offered Full day only.

Admissions Process
K - 4th Grade

The early elementary community at Applewild is a warm and supportive environment where students learn to develop a positive sense of self and sensitivity to the needs of others.


Enrollment Options

  • Day (K-4)
  • Boarding (4) students: 5-day and 7-day, domestic and international
  • ELL and Learning Support programs are offered at additional fees

Complete Your Application

A completed application includes:

  • Online Application & $70 application fee ($100 for international students)
  • Recommendations from one or more current teachers: Recommendation forms are emailed directly to the teacher through the application portal. 
  • Academic Records: Unofficial copies of your child’s two most recent report cards should be uploaded through the application portal. 

If your child is entering K-4, we will administer a relaxed screening involving age-appropriate drawing, math, and cognitive exercises. Screenings are conducted upon completion of the application.


***Note: We offer a streamlined application process for students currently enrolled in Applewild preschool. Their readiness for kindergarten will be assessed by our preschool teachers.***


If your child is an international/non-native speaker, depending on their age and level of English proficiency, we may ask for the TOEFL Jr, Duolingo English Test, or the ISEE. 

We encourage families to share any recent educational or neuropsychological testing.

5th - 9th Grade

Grades 5-9 at Applewild’s Fitchburg campus offer early adolescent learners the opportunity to discover who they are as students through our metacognitive approach, with the guidance and wisdom of dedicated educators.

A completed application includes:

  • Online Application & $70 application fee ($100 for international students)
  • Recommendations from Math and English teachers: Recommendation forms are emailed directly to the teacher through our application portal. Current 4th- and 5th-graders applying to grades 5 and 6 may have their homeroom teachers complete these recommendations. 
  • A TOEFL,  TOEFL Jr, or Duolingo Test: Required submission for International applicants or those with English as a second language. The Admissions Office may waive this requirement on an individual basis. 
  • Academic records: Unofficial copies of your child’s transcripts and/or recent report cards should be uploaded through the application portal.
  • Writing Sample (Optional): A recent sample of written work graded by a teacher.
  • Interview: After we have received teacher recommendations, we will reach out to schedule an in-person or online interview. 

We encourage families to share any recent educational or neuropsychological testing.

K-9 Application Timeline

  • Priority Admission:
    Applicants who complete their files in full by December 15 will be notified of decisions by January 15 (international students) or February 1 (domestic applicants)
  • Standard Admission:
    Applicants who complete their files in full by February 1 will be notified by March 10
  • Rolling Admission:
    Beginning March 15, applicants will be considered for admission on a rolling basis as space allows

Financial Aid 

Applewild School is committed to working with families to arrive at tuition that is sustainable for our school and your family. Tuition offers accompany admission decisions, so all paperwork and supporting documents must be completed to receive an enrollment offer.

Due to the time and energy we invest in determining a tuition offer, we require an application to the school in order to proceed with the Financial Aid process. Gregory Miller

Greg Miller is the Director of Admissions at Applewild School. He has been there for just over a year and is in charge of all aspects of the enrollment process. Prior to Applewild, Greg spent 3 years in the Admissions Office at Gould Academy in Bethel, ME. In his previous profession, Greg was a professional basketball player and College/Prep School Basketball Coach. Greg attended undergrad at the University of Delaware and majored in Business and St. Lawrence University for his Master's degree in Educational Leadership. Originally from Mount Holly, NJ, Greg is married to Alex Norden, Head Ski Coach at Boston College, and lives in Hudson, MA with his newborn son, Zach, and 3yr Saint Bernard dog, Gracie.

Miranda Namiotka

Miranda Namiotka is an Admissions and Residential Life Associate at Applewild. Having grown up on boarding school campuses as a faculty child and then graduating from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, boarding and independent schools have a special place in her heart. This past May, she graduated from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts with a major in English and minor in Education. Throughout her four years at Clark, she held multiple positions in the Undergraduate Admissions Office as a student worker sparking her passion for the field. In addition to her role in the admissions office at Applewild, Miranda serves as a dorm parent for the residential students and coach for the field hockey & ultimate frisbee teams. This is her first year at Applewild; she is very excited to begin her professional career working in a position that combines her passion for boarding schools with her love of admissions work. In her free time, Miranda enjoys reading, attending concerts, and thrift shopping!

Megan Harvey

Born in Montreal and raised in Leominster, Megan Harvey completed her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at The University of Massachusetts before moving to Spain for a year. In Spain, she taught English to preschool-aged children and developed a passion for working in the education field as well as learning about different cultures and languages. Her family's roots in the United Kingdom have sparked her love for travel and she has been to 15 countries and continues to explore more. In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time at the barn and horseback riding. This year, Megan joined Applewild school and is excited to combine her passions into her role as Admissions Associate at Applewild. She lives in Leominster with her german shepherd/rotweiller puppy.

Francesca Feldman

Francesca Feldman is working across teams as our Associate Director of Admissions and Advancement. After graduating from Muhlenberg College, she volunteered in Thailand, worked for a non-profit in Philadelphia, and taught Kindergarten in Bangkok. Upon returning to Boston, Francesca contributed to the advancement offices at both the New England Conservatory and Boston Architectural College, where she honed her skills in educational administration and development.
An alumna of Applewild School, Francesca graduated in 2008 after attending for 11 years. Returning to Applewild feels like coming home, and she is thrilled to help foster the same sense of community and growth that she experienced as a student!
