Merit-Based Scholarships
Merit-Based Scholarships

At Applewild, we empower students to pursue excellence in academics, arts, and athletics.  Merit-based scholarships are available to new students applying to grades 4, 5, 6, and 7. Once awarded, scholarships are automatically renewed annually as long as students maintain good academic and behavioral standing. Scholarships range from 5% to 95% of tuition and are considered confidentially by the Scholarship Committee.

Scholarships are awarded in three areas:

Academic Scholarships

Candidates should demonstrate a consistent pattern of academic achievement such as consistent high grades on report cards and/or  90% or higher on standardized tests such as SSAT, ISEE, MCAS, or WISC. Alternatively, a student may take the Applewild Scholarship Assessment on campus at a mutually convenient time, please contact admissions to schedule. Students should also possess demonstrated behavioral patterns of curiosity, inquiry, and intellectual adventurousness supported by recommendations by a student’s current teachers, or by attending academic enrichment programs such as Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, Explo, or Russian School of Math.

Merit-Based Scholarships
Arts Scholarships

To qualify, a student should have invested themselves in studio art, instrumental/vocal music, or drama, and have a demonstrated pattern of passion and interest. Students applying for an Arts Scholarship should supply photos and/or recordings to demonstrate their level of performance and may have a teacher, director, or instructor submit a letter attesting to their commitment to art, music, or drama.

Merit-Based Scholarships
Athletic Scholarships

To qualify, a student must have demonstrated skill and interest in one of the sports offered by Applewild School. In anticipation of the completion of our new 50,000 square foot Athletic & Wellness Center, the School is offering scholarships for students participating in swim, squash, basketball, soccer, fencing, and lacrosse. A student’s coach may submit a letter documenting a student’s overall athletic performance and potential, and a family may submit video or photographs to be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.
